Route confirmed 28 October 2026A western arterial zone shared with the Reddiyarpalayam run, so the van is already on this side of town on these morningsDrops here are a few hundred metres apart rather than next door, which is why the zone takes the later 8 to 11 am window and three mornings a week instead of the inner-town six.

The zone, street by street

Moolakulam sits on the western side of the city, out along the arterial roads that run towards Villianur — a mix of older residential streets and newer layouts and apartment blocks on larger plots. It takes in Pillaithottam, the Indira Nagar side, and the streets threaded off the Villianur road and 100 Feet Road. Compared with the tight colonial grid of the old town, this is open ground: houses set back from the road, compounds with parking, and the occasional gated complex.

That geography is the whole story of how we run the zone. Where the Tamil Quarter packs thirty drops into fifty-metre hops, here the same thirty drops are strung out over a few kilometres of arterial road. So Moolakulam shares the later 8 to 11 am window and three mornings a week — Monday, Wednesday and Friday — with the neighbouring Reddiyarpalayam run, because the van is already on the west side of town on those days and can take both in one loop.

Bigger homes, bigger baskets

The west-town household shops differently from the old-town one. Homes here are larger, often with more people under one roof and a car in the compound, and the weekly rhythm is a planned cook-ahead shop rather than a daily walk to Goubert Market. That is the household the scheduled model was built for, and it is why this zone over-indexes on two things.

The first is the weekly box. The Small Box at ₹499 is the entry size, but the Family Box is the one that moves here, because a four-person kitchen wants a planned week of vegetables to arrive on a Wednesday rather than a daily improvisation. The second is bulk staples — rice, dhal, pulses and cold-pressed oils in 5 kg packs on a monthly rhythm, which a larger kitchen gets through and a larger home has the space to store. Add a standing milk and dairy order on the same three mornings and most of the week's shopping is handled without anyone leaving the house.

None of that beats Zepto or Instamart for a forgotten packet of something at 9 pm, and we do not pretend otherwise. What it beats is the planning tax: the daily question of what is in the fridge and who is going to the market. On these streets, that is the problem worth solving.

Practical notes for this zone

How the drop works here

  • Spread-out streets, so the 8–11 am window and drops a few hundred metres apart
  • For gated complexes, we leave the order with security or call you down — tell us which
  • Name your layout or a nearby park as the landmark rather than a plot number alone
  • Most of the zone is reached in the first half of the window
  • The 4–7 pm top-up run reaches this zone on route days for orders placed before 11 am

What is worth ordering here

  • The Family Box on Wednesday mornings — the most-taken box in the zone
  • Rice, dhal, pulses and oil in 5 kg packs on a monthly rhythm
  • A standing milk and dairy order on the same three mornings
  • Everyday vegetables and keerai priced on the daily list
  • Auroville-bioregion organic vegetables, free above ₹500

Questions we answer daily

Which days do you deliver to Moolakulam?

Monday, Wednesday and Friday, in an 8 to 11 am window, with an 8 pm cutoff the evening before. The zone covers Moolakulam, Pillaithottam, Indira Nagar and the streets along the Villianur road and 100 Feet Road. It is a three-morning zone, one of the western arterial runs.

Why is the window 8 to 11 am and not 7 to 10 like the old town?

Because this zone is spread out. Out here the drops are 300 to 500 metres apart along arterial roads, not fifty metres apart as in the Tamil Quarter, so the round starts an hour later and runs three mornings a week rather than six. The later window is about distance, not priority.

What is the minimum order and the delivery charge?

A Rs 300 minimum per delivery, free delivery once your invoice reaches Rs 500, and a flat Rs 40 charge below that. Larger west-town households usually clear Rs 500 easily on a weekly shop, so most orders here go out with no delivery charge at all.

When does the weekly box arrive in Moolakulam?

Wednesday mornings in the 8 to 11 am window. The Small Box at Rs 499 is the entry size, but the Family Box is the one most-ordered in this zone, because homes here are larger and plan a full week of cooking rather than a daily market trip.

Can you deliver to a gated apartment complex here?

Yes. If the gate does not allow the van in, we leave the order with security or call you to come down — tell us which on your first order. Name your layout or a nearby park as the landmark. Most complexes on this round are reached in the first half of the 8 to 11 am window.

Do you deliver milk and dairy to Moolakulam?

Yes, on the same three mornings, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Farm and A2 milk, curd, paneer and ghee ride the morning round, and a standing milk order can be attached to your weekly box so it simply arrives with everything else rather than as a separate drop.

Can I get a same-day or afternoon delivery?

On a route day, yes. An order placed before 11 am on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday can join the 4 to 7 pm top-up run in this zone. On other days the next route morning is the earliest — we run a scheduled three-mornings-a-week round here, not a standing fleet.

Do you supply bulk and monthly staples?

Yes. Rice, dhal, pulses and cold-pressed oils come in 5 kg packs on a monthly rhythm, which suits the larger households in this zone. The Rs 300 minimum applies, delivery is free above Rs 500, and staples also ship by courier if you are moving house out of the delivery radius.
